Refunds and Right of Withdrawal

What you can cancel and when: the 14-day EU withdrawal right you keep in full, and how to ask for a refund.

Last updated August 19, 2026

Courses are sold as one-off purchases through Stripe, which acts as merchant of record and issues your invoice. This page explains what you can cancel, and when.

There are two places you can ask, and both work: write to us at info@skillpilot.app, or contact Link support — the checkout service the purchase went through. Stripe can issue a refund directly, including without asking us first, for up to 60 days after the transaction. You do not need to try us first.

Your 14-day right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU, EU law gives you 14 days from the moment of purchase to withdraw from a contract for digital content, without giving any reason and without penalty.

You keep that right here, in full. That is a deliberate choice and worth explaining, because most sellers of digital content do the opposite.

The law lets us take that right away: when digital content is delivered immediately — which is what buying a course does, since it unlocks the moment your payment clears — the right of withdrawal lapses if the buyer expressly asks for immediate access and acknowledges losing it. That is the tickbox you have seen on other checkouts.

We used to have one. We removed it on 2026-08-19, for a simple reason: the only thing it buys us is the ability to refuse you a refund once you have opened the course, and we were never going to do that. Keeping it meant asking you to sign away a right at the exact moment you are deciding whether to trust us, in exchange for a protection we had already given up. So access opens immediately and you keep your 14 days.

What that means in practice

Write to info@skillpilot.app within 14 days of buying and we refund it in full. You do not need a reason, and we will not ask how much of it you read.

Reading the whole thing does not forfeit anything. That is what having the right rather than having waived it means.

We can afford this because the free material is extensive enough that you can judge the writing before you spend anything: eleven roadmaps, twelve certification guides and a free pack of three courses, all public and all written to the same standard as the paid ones. Anyone who buys has already read us.

Beyond 14 days we look at it case by case. A course that turned out to be wrong for you six months on is not something we will usually refund; a course that is broken, mis-described or that we withdrew is.

When we refund without being asked

  • We withdraw or substantially cut a course you bought. A pack is sold as a fixed set of lessons; if we remove them, you get your money back.
  • You were charged twice for the same thing. Tell us and we will return the duplicate. This should not happen, and if it does it is our defect, not your mistake.
  • The payment succeeded but access never arrived. First we fix the access, because that is what you actually wanted. If we cannot, we refund.

What a refund does

Access to the refunded pack or course ends when the refund is issued. Your account, your progress on everything else, and any other purchase are untouched.

Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe. How long the money takes to appear is your bank's business, not ours — usually a few working days.

What is not refundable

Nothing else is, because nothing else is sold. There is no subscription, no recurring charge and no auto-renewal: a pack is bought once and does not expire. There is nothing to cancel to stop being billed, because you are never billed again.

How to ask

Either of these, whichever you prefer:

  • Email info@skillpilot.app from the address on the account, saying what you bought. No form, no queue. We reply within a few working days.
  • Contact Link support, the checkout service that processed the payment. You can also see your order history and manage your details at link.com.

If you are a consumer in the EU and you are unhappy with how it was handled, you keep the protections of your country of residence and may use the EU online dispute resolution channels.
